Wala Anda

Nakalimutan ko ng i-post ito ha… Dami kasing gawa lately… Toxic…

Regarding the just concluded 28th Manila International Bookfair (August 29-September 2, 2007) at the World Trade Center, ganun pa rin naman tulad ng dati – maraming libro.  The bookfair made me P1500.00 poorer.  Pero sa mga nakakakilala sa akin, okay na ang mga numerong ganito kaysa noong mga nakaraang taon.  Most of the books I purchased this time were from UST Press and Anvil Publishing.  And again, mostly historical in content.  Ano nga bang bago…

Hay. Konti libro, wala anda. Matumal…

Misfortunes in Currimao

Proud of my Ilocano descent (most of the time), I always tell my friends and colleagues how nice and hospitable the Ilocanos are especially when it comes to welcoming visitors to their homeland.  However, even my own impression may have changed right after we experienced the not-so-good side of several residents of Currimao, Ilocos Norte.

We were in Ilocandia from August 31 to September 2 for our scheduled field trip this semester.  But what was supposed to be a pleasant stay at a Currimao beach resort turned sour especially when you have these unfortunate occurrences: a digicam stolen from a student while he was taking a swim, stones being thrown at cottages where students were having their good time, harassments as reported by (girl) students from mischievous individuals, and a DVD player stolen inside a bus perhaps during the wee hours of the night.

Nevertheless, the entire trip was both enjoyable and tiring.  But sadly, I think I may have second thoughts in returning to this place again…
