Tough Luck

Inasmuch as you may want to give your very best in every task or endeavor that you do, you will soon come to realize that this is very tough to achieve especially when people around you are continually bringing you down.  You love your work, your work loves you; but what happens when the environment where you belong now seem to detest you?  Will you continue to do your stuff and be oblivious of the world around you?

Quoting the great Filipino thinker Jose Rizal: “Deprive a man then of his dignity, and you not only deprive him of his moral stamina but also you render him useless even to those who want to make use of him.  Every being in creation has his spur, his mainspring; man’s is his self-respect; take away from him and he becomes a corpse; and he who demands activity from a corpse will find only worms.  Rightly so…

When Patience’s a Virtue and Sky’s the Limit

Happy new year!  A new beginning for all of us…

And yes, another year of troubles, complaints, angst, etc.  Just a day after the first day of the year…  January 2, 2008…  What a way to start this wonderful year…

First to get my ax are the ‘dead telephone operators’ of Sky Cable.  Dial 631-0000 and prepare yourself for that long agony of endless wait.  Be ready to memorize these lines – ‘Thank you for waiting, all customer service associates are still busy.  Please continue to hold and we’ll attend to you shortly’.  (What a big lie.)  Get ready to be indoctrinated by Sky Cable’s ads, commercials, info, yak, yak, yak  – while you wait, wait, and wait until your patience runs out on you…

I just have a simple f$c%*@g question for these ‘dead associates’ (whatever their designations maybe): What ever happened to my Basketball TV Channel (Channel 34)?  Goodness gracious.  I pay my dues on time (every 15th of the month).  All I am asking for is an efficient cable service – as well as ‘living (meaning, ‘alive’) customer service associates.  That’s all…
