Sporting Chance

The PBA season’s now officially over.  But hey, it’s not that bad after all.  Sta. Lucia Realtors’ Kelly Williams and Ryan Reyes were still able to bag the M.V.P. and R.O.Y. awards, respectively.  It could have been triple delight for the green shirts had Joseph Yeo gotten the Most Improved Player award as he helped the Realtors got their first-ever All-Filipino title.  But then again, the M.I.P. awardee Cyrus Baguio was also superb this season – breezing and exploding to the basket while performing the most acrobatic of shots and finishing the seemingly impossible hoops most of the time.  In the end, the Realtors and the Gin Kings were the achievers this season.  It’s another long wait before another one begins…

Meanwhile, let’s all sit and wait as we all pray to high heavens to grant us that elusive gold in the ongoing Olympics.  It’s not over till it’s over.  We hope…

We’re Not Drunk

At the office, a colleague remarked from nowhere, “Pare, talagang hindi mo makukuha ang lahat ano?  Kaya talaga dapat eh just be happy with what you have.”

He hit it right.  Appreciation for someone or something is seemingly hard to come by these days.  We currently live in a world where everything seems speeded up.  For some of us, life has become dull and monotonous, while everyday living has become boring and repetitive.  I miss those times where spontaneity, adventure, and excitement ruled my world.  Live for the moment.  Take anything that life can offer.  Seize everything.  Grab every bit of opportunity.  Worry about something later.

In the midst of my frenzied schedule, I may have forgotten to be grateful to some people that were once (and still are) dear to me.  Perhaps so many things may have just been occupying my mind lately.  I always try to be nice to people around me even though sometimes they see the opposite of that.  I never intend to bullshit or anything.  But if some people think that you are, then you just have to accept that plain and simple.  It’s a cruel world here, baby.  But then again, my apologies I offer as always.

Again, be contented with what you have.  I then responded, “Oo nga Pare.  Wala naman kasing perpektong buhay.  Wala rin namang perpektong tao.”  By the way, we’re not drunk.

Plain Folly

It’s Olympics season once again.  Our Filipino athletes will once again begin their quest for that elusive gold

Sadly though, my cable company can’t provide me with full coverage of this sporting spectacle, unless of course I opt to subscribe for the entire duration of the event.  Damn.  I should have changed cable long time ago (in fact, right before the NBA Finals started last season).  I was wishing and hoping that something can be done to fix the matter, or perhaps just to appease all loyal subscribers.  Lowering the cable cost is one; providing more exciting channels is another.  However, none has materialized so far…

I think it’s high time that I should change cable now.  Shedding P635 per month without getting any satisfaction is plain folly
